Side Fixed Point Fixing System FAQs

    • The glass panels as standard are 1.1m in height. This is compliant with building regulations. If your Juliet balcony is protecting a fall on an internal landing in your home, the height of the panel needs only to be 900mm.

    • The glass supplied will be 17.5mm toughened laminate for panels up to 1.7m wide and with 21.5mm toughened laminate for panels up to 2.4m wide. This system is fully tested.

    • Yes it can. We can supply a slotted tube handrail which sits on top of the glass. The slotted tube handrail is supplied with a gasket which sits between the tube and the glass. The tube itself has a 24mm x 24mm slot and can supplied as round (42mm diameter or 48mm diameter), square or rectangular.

    • Yes it is fully tested when fixed to either steel or concrete. We can provide you with a test certificate on request.

    • We can supply stand offs that will allow you to adjust the panel when fixing to uneven surfaces. They are a good solution when fixing to surfaces such as uneven stone work.

    • Point fixings are also known as stand offs. This is because they allow the glass to stand off the building. The thickness of the back plate will determine how far your glass sits away from the building. Your glass will only need to stand off the building if it needs to clear an obstacle such as a window sill.
